When looking around for a new job, there’s nothing quite like hearing stories from those who work there to help you understand what it’s really like.

Our new nationwide recruitment campaign, Stories from the Inside, aims to give people a deeper insight into our work, through sharing real stories from our staff.

The stories have been re-told by actors to help protect privacy, but we’ve worked to ensure the scripts stayed true to the original story shared by our staff.

The series has four stories - two from Corrections Officers (each showing different sides of the role), a probation officer and a mental health nurse. For each story, there is a short 45 second video, as well as a longer story which can be listened to or read.

The different environments our Corrections Officers work in

Our Corrections Officers work in a diverse range of settings, from different types of units to areas of the prison like Master Control and the Receiving Office. We explore some of these different environments and what they mean for our Corrections Officers on the floor.

Update on pilot programme

Special Treatment Units (STU's) provide an intensive rehabilitation programme for participants, run by psychologists. A new pilot service is helping participants to maintain what they learn in STU's, as they transition into the community.
