Click here To all DDS Stakeholders: DDS launched the STEP (Supporting Transformation to Empower People) initiative that highlights seven core supports which focus on independence, choice, and community integration. DDS continues to develop materials illustrating the specifics of STEP, and how this initiative impacts our mission and the lives of all those DDS supports. Fact Sheets about each of the seven core supports are now available on the STEP webpage on the DDS website. I encourage all individuals eligible for DDS services and their families to start talking with their provider staff and case managers about these core supports that can promote and enhance independence. Providers and case managers, along with other members of individuals' support teams, take a thorough and person-centered approach in ensuring everyone is matched with the right supports that meet the individual's needs while promoting growth and success. Any changes to your current supports will be made carefully and with a detailed transition plan. I hope everyone is having a great summer. |
