Share Your Voice for Healing and Growing

As a part of the School of Medicine's strategic plan to design and implement an anti-racism educational curriculum, the Actionable Education Initiative (AEI) subcommittee on anti-racism is asking the SOM community to share a story or experience influenced by difference.

Submissions can include stories of microaggressions, discrimination, harm, threat of harm, processing, healing, or allyship. The de-identified stories will inform educational interventions and policies to help eradicate bias and injustice within our institution.

Please note, that if you do not wish to officially report any harm at this time, please keep your submissions free of identifying information, as our team members are mandatory reporters. We hold the utmost respect for your discretion and do not discourage you from reporting someone who has committed harm to you. Additionally, Emory University's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) offer a variety of programs, services, and resources to promote emotional, behavioral, collegiate, and workplace health.

    RYSE AFFINITY MONTH CELEBRATIONS

    Recognizing Disability Pride Month

Disability Pride Month is celebrated in July and is an opportunity to honor the history, achievements, experiences, and struggles of people with disabilities. July marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark legislation that broke down barriers to inclusion in society for people with disabilities.

People with disabilities deserve to live full, self-determined lives, yet discrimination persists for one in four U.S. adults living with a disability.  As we recognize Disability Pride this month, learn more about ways to celebrate and support our disability community below:
