PRIVACY ACT REVIEW SUBMISSION In December 2019, the Attorney-General announced that the Australian Government would review the Privacy Act 1988 to ensure privacy settings empower consumers, protect their data, and best serve the Australian economy. As part of that review, the AG's office released a discussion paper seeking further feedback on potential changes to the Act. To further support our members' ongoing commitment to privacy and best practice - working under Australia's first and only registered APP industry privacy code, which goes above minimal privacy legislation - ADIA responded to the discussion paper highlighting areas of proposed reform that impact ADIA member practices.
