Research Highlights
Our team launched a clinical trial for the mPROVEN study (PI: Gellad). The study, Machine-Learning Prediction and Reducing Overdoses with EHR Nudges (mPROVEN) combines a machine learning risk prediction tool with behavioral nudges in the UMPC electronic health record. The cluster randomized trial will run through the summer in UPMC primary care practices and will determine the effectiveness of the risk prediction-nudge combination on prescribing practices, such as naloxone prescribing, compared to usual care.
