When Shaun turns Mad Scientist to fix the problem, things rapidly spiral out of control... With The Farmer missing and a wild beast roaming the woods of Mossingham, all the ingredients are in place for a monstrously fun family adventure.

Conceived and created by Skye McIntosh (Artistic Director of the Australian Haydn Ensemble), this immersive new multimedia work is inspired by the lives of 19th-century illustrators and naturalists Harriet and Helena Scott and their acclaimed ‘Butterfly Book’, Australian Lepidoptera and their Transformations. Drawing directly from the State Library’s collection, it blends exquisite animations, theatrical performance and live classical music performed on period instruments.

Sydney Chamber Choir's much-loved series fusing classical, jazz and popular song returns, celebrating the beauty and rhythm of the changing seasons. Sam Allchurch as well as Naomi Crellin and Nick Begbie of The Idea of North lead the Choir and a jazz trio in a program of warmth, reflection and joy.

Works by Britten and Joe Twist illuminate the poetry of the natural world and are complemented by arrangements of favourites including the Beach Boys' Their Hearts Were Full of Spring, the Beatles' Here Comes the Sun and Gershwin's Summertime.

2026 Young Virtuoso Awards

The 2026 Young Virtuoso Award State Finals will be held on Sunday 18 October 2026 at the 2MBS Fine Music Sydney Studio 

For over thirty-five years, our Young Virtuoso Award has celebrated emerging classical talents, offering invaluable career opportunities and substantial prizes.

Applications are now open for the 2026 competition, with prizes including $3,000 for the winner, $1,000 for the runner-up, $500 Adjudicator Encouragement Award and a performance opportunity with the North Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

The winner will also represent 2MBS in the National Fine Music Award.

Sunday Free Carillon Recital
The University of Sydney

The University of Sydney War Memorial Carillon is a much loved part of the institution's aural landscape, heard at our graduation ceremonies, weekly recitals, and many other events. Dedicated on Anzac Day, 1928, it commemorates the undergraduates, graduates and staff who died in the First World War.

Carillon recitals are open to everyone to attend. No specific seating is provided, so you may wish to sit in the Quadrangle or the front lawn benches, bring a blanket or chairs, or simply wander the beautiful surroundings. The best place for listening to the bells is in the cloisters near MacLaurin Hall.

Manly comes alive with jazz from 18–20 September, as Australia’s longest-running jazz festival brings more than 95 acts across four stages and venues throughout Manly.

For 2MBS Fine Music Sydney, there are some particularly exciting names to catch. 2MBS 2026 Jazz Artist in Residence Hilary Geddes performs with her quartet at Manly Art Gallery & Museum on Saturday evening, bringing her distinctive contemporary sound to the festival.

Also on the program are Tilly Street Trio, performing on the Sydney Road Stage, and The Pocket Trio, featuring Monica Trapaga, Kate Wadey and Edo Santoni, on the Beachfront Stage. Plus plenty more!
