The Howick Hustlers finished runners-up, with the HELP Howick trio taking third — part of a powerhouse showing from Howick, who impressively filled five of the top six spots. The finals, hosted by Epsom Bowling Club, capped off three weeks of quickfire competition and lively banter across Royal Oak, Remuera, and Epsom. Tournament convenor Les Smith praised the clubs and players for their enthusiasm and support of the fun, fast-paced format. The fund is made possible thanks to the legacy of the Rawhiti Fund and will be supported through the Bowls Auckland Foundation, meaning every donation goes straight back into helping clubs thrive. Saturday saw perfect weather for the Club Handicap Singles, where Louise Sheryn claimed the title ahead of JD Patel (runner-up) and Murray Davidson in third place. Sunday rolled seamlessly from Lawn Bowls 101 into a lively Give It A Go Open Day — and it really was go, go, go! The club was buzzing with new faces, friendly competition, and classic Kohi hospitality. A huge thank-you to the incredible volunteer team for making everyone feel welcome, and to Mike from Laser Electrical Remuera for helping power up a fantastic day. Kohi’s well and truly amped for a bright summer season ahead!       Monday Madness takes off at Papatoetoe-- Jess MacKinven Bowls Papatoetoe debuted its first-ever Monday Madness Singles on 20 October and safe to say the event lived up to its name! Eighteen bowlers from across Auckland took to the club’s pristine natural green, filling all nine rinks for a day packed with good vibes, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs. The field brought together an awesome mix of talent, from enthusiastic first-year bowlers to seasoned pros and rep players creating a fantastic atmosphere of energy, rivalry, and a shared passion for the game. The tourney’s format has shown it’s a great way to connect with fellow bowlers, get some quality game time and sharpen skills ahead of the season, and simply enjoy bowls in a relaxed, social setting.
