Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome back to the 2024 school year. It has been such a joy walking through the school this morning and yesterday afternoon during our meet and greet, as the excitement and anticipation of a new school year is clearly in the air. As the Short-Term Principal for 2024, I am very excited and feel a deep sense of gratitude to be given the opportunity to lead the Our Lady of Grace community in its 70th Year. The Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth call us to find God in the everyday and model our lives on the Holy Family's love for each other and love of God. I look forward to journeying with the community as we empower ".. all students through faith, wisdom and knowledge to live fulfilling lives in our everchanging
world".

School Start Time
In 2023, a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement for all teachers in Catholic Education was reached. To fulfill the requirements around instructional time, OLG will need to begin the school day at 8.30am as opposed to 8.35am. Class doors will open at 8.15am with the school learning day commencing at 8.30am. The end of school time (2.50pm) will remain unchanged.
Parent Information Evening
Our parent Information Evening will be held on Tuesday 6 February at 6pm in the Multi Purpose Area (MPA). The first 30 minutes are spent together as a school community and at 6.30pm you will move to your child's classes for the parent meeting. This meeting will be repeated at 7pm for those families with multiple children. These are important meetings and are part of our communication to you as the first educators of your children.
Date Change - Pupil Free Date Change
All Professional Learning dates for 2024 and important dates for Term 1 will be available in our official communication channel – the school newsletter. I would like to advise of one change to the calendar. The Pupil Free Day set aside at the beginning of Term 4 (7th October 2024), will be moved to Monday 4th November (Week 5, Term 4). Your understanding in this change is appreciated.
Immunisation Records
Could all Pre-Kindy and Kindy parents please provide their child's most up-to-date immunisation records to admin@olg.wa.edu.au as soon as possible. Alternatively, a printed copy can be supplied to reception.
School Fees
2024 school fees will be sent to each family in Week 2 this term. All families will be required to complete the payment plan. If you have any queries regarding school fees, please contact our Business Manager Kate Corkill via accounts@olg.wa.edu.au
Recorders
We have had a number of queries regarding the purchase of recorders for Year 3-6. Recorders will not be required for Term 1.
