The award honors a member of the faculty or staff for significant service to Emory through personal activities, influence, and leadership, usually over the course of many years. What is your professional background?
I received my DVM at Yanbian University and my first M.S. at Beijing Agriculture University in Infectious Diseases in China. I received my second M.S. at Kansas State University in Human Nutrition in the U.S. After completing my MS in the U.S., I started working as a research technician at Emory University. In what division do you work, and who is your mentor?
I work in the Division of Cardiology. I am part of Dr. Kathy Griendling’s research team, and I am mentored by Marina Sorrentino Hernandes. Briefly describe your research. Why is it important?
I study the role of the novel binding protein polymerase delta interacting protein-2 in stroke. This is very important to finding a novel drug treatment for stroke patients. What do you like most about Emory?
I love the diversity in the research areas and the friendly environment. I also love the wonderful collaboration and support between the different departments. What is your favorite movie or TV show?
I love to watch The World of Animals movies. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy playing with my kids, and I love teaching Chinese in my church.
