Infant with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy  received an infusion of cord blood stored by Cordlife Hong Kong

HONG KONG: Joyce (alias) was only six months old when she had to undergo heart surgery to treat an underlying heart problem. During surgery, her brain was deprived of oxygen, resulting in a 3% shrinkage. She became unresponsive to external stimuli and had limited consciousness; doctors eventually diagnosed her with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.

Still holding out hope, Joyce's parents recalled that they had collected and stored Joyce's cord blood with Cordlife Hong Kong when she was born.
