After a wild few weeks of conversations, meetings, negotiations, drawing, and dreaming... we have signed a sublease with Bodycote to move into some of the space at the north end of our building. This move will allow us to grow, differentiate, organize, and better serve our community. A major part of this process includes partnering with Rutland Area Robotics to up our STEM game. We are working to create an intentional pathway through STEM for Rutland youth. The first steps include relocating the woodshop and metal shop. Each of these shops will
get bigger, cleaner, safer, and easier to access. We will also be relocating our Youth STEAM space to allow for more on-site programming, outdoor maker exploration, and hands-on learning. Administrative offices, computer labs, textiles, our 100-watt laser, and similar “clean” needs get new square footage in this area, too. We will also be able to offer more rentable studios for makers who are looking to expand what they do and explore small-scale manufacturing and business planning. The floor plan below tells a bit of the story:

Understanding & Creating Inclusive Environments
Marketing *without* Social Media
JULY 11 | 12:00-1:30 PM As a small business owner deeply tied to your values, you’re constantly navigating this tricky space between “I really don’t want to do stuff that’s soul-crushing/leads to burnout/feels exploitative” (hello Instagram) and “all of my industry peers are on social/I can’t make money unless I’m on social/everything will fall apart if I stop posting reels every single day of my life!”. If you’re wondering if there’s a world in which your business not only survives but thrives *without* social media, then join anti-capitalist business coach, Emily Eley, for this 90-minute workshop. Prepare to leave this workshop with a solid understanding of the many other types of marketing you can use for your business as well as some reassurance that just because a lot of other folks are doing something, doesn’t mean you have to as well if it’s not working for you!
