Never miss a chance to connect

Our lives are busy these days, so busy. Many times it seems we just don't have enough time to connect with close friends, family, nature, the many things and people that help us through difficult times and center us. Perhaps we just need to spend more time realizing how fortunate we really are?

Getting out into the backcountry, be it a wilderness park or your local urban park can be a wonderful and satisfying way to reset connections to your surroundings and yourself. I do my best to make those visits into nature a priority. It is far too easy to put those travels aside for other "more important" events. You might be interested in checking out the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique explored in our latest blog, Nourishing Nature. It is a powerful tool to calm oneself and help in acknowledging the natural setting around you.

When the freedom of the alpine calls, close friends and mothers Izzy Lynch and Tessa Treadway answer. Accompanied by their five kids between the ages of two months and eight years, they venture deep into the wilderness to Amiskwi Lodge where they disconnect from a world of busyness and distractions and reconnect with their adventurous roots.

The trip offers more than just hiking objectives and fresh air- it provides moments of pause, play, and connection amidst the icy streams and iconic peaks of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
