AHRA Women’s Health Research Translation Network grants

The AHRA WHRTN has announced its inaugural Early and Mid-Career Researcher Funded Awards grant round comprising of a one-off 12-month financial support to facilitate career advancement and development in women in E/MCR stages of their research careers.

The fellowship is targeted at Early-Career Researchers, with a salary component of $120K p.a and an additional research support package of $50K p.a for a five-year term.

This program aims to provide financial support to groups of Allied Health Professionals and/or Allied Health Assistants seeking to further develop their knowledge and skills through group related work learning opportunities that occur during 2021/22. Funding of up to $4K available.

Ramaciotti Health Investment Grant

These grants of up to $150K are awarded to individuals in universities, public hospitals or institutes for a contribution towards the undertaking of health or medical research with the potential path to clinical application within five years. A Health Investment grant is intended to provide enabling research support for an autonomous early career investigator who is taking, or has recently taken, a substantive position.

Inaugural David Cooper Lecture with Dr Anthony S. Fauci

Dr Anthony S. Fauci joins Tegan Taylor, co-host of the ABC’s Coronacast, to discuss the past, the present and the future: from what we learned from the HIV/AIDS epidemic to what the ongoing impact of COVID-19 will be. This event is the inaugural David Cooper Lecture, which honours the legacy of the Kirby Institute’s Founding Director, Prof David Cooper AC. These mentors will share their personal stories and how they have navigated from being a PhD student to their current positions.

TCRN
The Translational Cancer Research Network (TCRN) is a translational cancer research centre program funded by the Cancer Institute NSW and is a collaborative and interactive cancer research community based in the South East of Sydney, with links to cancer services and researchers in inner and southern Sydney, and Albury. It was formed to create an innovative and supportive environment for the translation of cancer research into improvements in patient care.

CONCERT
The Centre for Oncology Education, Research and Training (CONCERT) is a translational research centre program funded by the Cancer Insitute NSW. CONCERT exists to bring together the knowledge and expertise of cancer health professionals and researchers to facilitate translation of research generated evidence into practice to achieve better outcomes for those affected by cancer.

Cancer CAG
The Cancer Clinical Academic Group (Cancer CAG) brings together clinicians and researchers from three universities, four cancer services (with six major treatment facilities) and three Medical Research Institutes. Our combined research strength spans the translational medicine spectrum of bench to bedside and health service delivery.

Working with TCRC partners, our network extends to all of the organisations below.
