Fourteen teams from Auckland Grammar, St Paul’s College, One Tree Hill College, St Peter’s College, and Lynfield College each played three games of five ends, with many students trying bowls at a club for the first time after taster sessions at school earlier this term. One Tree Hill College students helped run the day, supporting with scoring, organisation, and filming the action for their media studies projects. What stood out most was the way students cheered for each other — every shot, every effort, celebrated together. The day ended with a simple prizegiving, recognising not just the bowls, but the teamwork, sportsmanship, and shared experience that made it memorable for everyone involved. ![]() Celebrating 2025 Award WinnersBowls New Zealand's 2025 Summerset Awards have once again honoured the incredible people and clubs shaping the future of bowls in Aotearoa.
