CU Social Enterprise team. Funding opportunities: Launch is a entrepreneurship development programme to support and encourage new entrepreneurs. In addition to training, mentoring, events and networking, we have also completed two important funding opportunities: - Launch Do It Funding, in partnership with Santander, provides financial support for entrepreneurs who already have a registered company and are trading. The investment will serve to boost their business. A total of £12,000 will be funded in selected business. - Social Impact Challenge 2022. Coventry University has awarded £10,000 as part of 'proof of concept' funding for new business idea or projects to solve a social challenge. For both opportunities, we received dozens of excellent applications, which after a careful analysis and difficult decision, successfully concluded the process. Our special and sincere thanks to everyone who participated in both competitions. Find out more about the Launch Programme by visiting our website: Connect2 Our Connect2 project was part of the recent “Jobs Fair” at the Assembly festival gardens in Coventry. Steve Crump, who supports people on the project to find work, start a new business / social enterprise and also helps them find training, said “The event was successful in raising the profile of Connect2 and CUSE. Many people came to our table and learned how we can support them while also enjoying the facilities at the festival gardens.” Liaising in Prague CU Social Enterprise was represented at the Better Incubation bootcamp held in Prague last week by our Social Enterprise Programme Manager, Mariama Njie as part of Better Incubation project (formerly known as LIAISE) – the bootcamp was a culmination of our involvement in the communities of practice piloting incubation programmes focussing on impact-driven and inclusive entrepreneurial support for women, migrants and refugees, seniors, young people and people with disabilities. Watch this space for our upcoming bulletin where we will share more details of our collaborative work with business support organisations, incubators, experts, entrepreneurs, investors to develop a toolkit, impact report and policy recommendations as a result of the fantastic learning over the past 2 years! Dr Sunita Dewitt from ICTE was representing us at the event. This is a fantastic acknowledgement of all efforts, as part of a collaborative application between ICTE and CUSE, in providing fantastic entrepreneurship support. The Triple E Awards are a global recognition of efforts towards the quest for entrepreneurship and engagement in higher education. It is the first award to focus specifically on different dimensions of the universities' third mission. Implemented regionally, the Triple E Awards aim to foster change in universities and to emphasise their role in their communities and ecosystems.
