Lines of Inquiry: A Cross-Institution Exploration of Inclusive Creative Practices On 21st March, 32 academic peers from Coventry University Group and Birmingham City University came together to actively explore inclusive creative practices in higher education. Hosted by Birmingham City University, and co-delivered by academic developers from each university, participants were guided through the production of a series of individual and collective drawings informed by the Lines of Inquiry presentation introducing research, starting points and visual arts practice. Exploring notions of thinking, making and doing, participants were invited to draw upon their own experiences, employ a materials-led approach, and engage in active, social and cooperative learning. Time was afforded to learning from and with others, and cross-institution conversations around emerging ideas and developing creative practices were encouraged. Following on from this event, colleagues from both universities are warmly invited to contribute to the on-going inquiry and share creative practices made use of within own subject disciplines. Ideas shared will form the starting point for a cross-institution compendium of creative practices. A reciprocal practical session taking place at Coventry University is planned for October 2023. This event will be open to colleagues from Coventry University and Birmingham City University. If you are interested in participating, please complete the expression of interest form by 3rd May.
