SFO Welcomes EL AL Israel Airlines

On May 13, 2019, EL AL Israel Airlines (LY) launched nonstop service to Tel Aviv (TLV) three times a week. Flights operate on EL AL 787 Dreamliner aircraft, offering Business, Premium and Economy seating. On board, guests enjoy a rich in-flight entertainment experience and menus planned by EL AL chefs.

Flights depart TLV on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:05 a.m. and arrive at SFO at 6:00 a.m. The return flights depart SFO on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. and arrive at TLV at 7:40 p.m. the following day. On Saturdays, the return flight departs SFO at 10:45 p.m. and arrives at TLV at 10:25 p.m. the following day.

Now, Nonstop SFO-Lisbon Service on TAP Air Portugal

SFO is pleased to welcome TAP Air Portugal, and the West Coast’s only nonstop service to Lisbon (LIS). Two classes of service are available: Business class, which offers full-flat seats; and Economy class, which features more legroom and deeper seat recline. Passengers will also enjoy the new A330neo aircraft’s state-of-the-art personalized entertainment system and connectivity that allows for free neo-messaging for all passengers.

Flights operate five times per week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays) departing SFO at 4:10 p.m., and arriving at LIS at 11:20 a.m. the following day. The return flights depart LIS at 10:00 a.m. and arrive at SFO at 2:20 p.m.

The Intriguing World of Insects

SFO Museum's new exhibition illuminates the extraordinary world of insects through the collection of the Essig Museum of Entomology at the University of California, Berkeley

Insects are the most diverse macroscopic organisms on the planet. Researchers have identified more than one million species and estimate that five to thirty million are waiting to be discovered. Insects are everywhere—from shoreline to mountaintop, deserts to ponds, deep in the soil to the tips of the tallest redwoods, and they inhabit some of the most extreme environments on Earth.

This exhibition includes more than 1,000 specimens, fine art photography, rare books, and a remarkable anatomical model of Musca domestica, commonly known as the house fly. View this exhibition in the International Terminal pre-security until January 5, 2020.

New Mobile App Helps SFO Travelers with Autism

SFO partners with Magnusmode to provide step-by-step guidance on the airport experience

SFO has introduced a new initiative to support travelers with cognitive special needs such as autism. The MagnusCards® app now offers digital “Card Decks”, customized for SFO, which provide step-by-step instructions that take users through the activities associated with air travel, such as check-in, security screening and aircraft boarding. This allows travelers with cognitive special needs to become familiar with the various steps of traveling through SFO in advance, in the hope of making the air travel experience easier and more enjoyable.

REAL ID

Effective October 1, 2020, adult passengers with a driver’s license issued by a state that is still not compliant with the REAL ID Act will need to show an alternative form of acceptable identification for domestic air travel.
