Extend your research beyond the publication

  • Can your research be applied in practical ways to solve real-world problems?
  • Have you invented a new & useful:
    • method or process?  (e.g., computational process, process of manufacture)
    • material?  (e.g., chemical compound, functional protein)
    • research tool?  (e.g., cell line, animal model)
  • Do you believe your results could be of value to others – including industry or other researchers?

Penn State has resources to help inventors protect and translate research in ways alternative to (but not in conflict with) academic publication.  Visit the IP Navigator to review emerging technologies being developed in the Eberly College of Science.  For further discussion contact Beth Johnson (bai107@psu.edu), Intellectual Property Liaison for researchers in the Eberly College of Science.
