Let's Talk Promotions

Dr. Uleme Luhanga, Graduate Medical Education, Department of Medicine, was approved for promotion to Associate Professor, effective September 1, 2022. Congratulations, Uleme!
We asked Dr. Luhanga what advice she received and found helpful during her promotion journey, and she said:

"Get to know the faculty development staff in your department and the School of Medicine. They can provide a wealth of information and guidance." Dr. Luhanga offered her own advice, too. "Start early! Attend the workshops offered by SOM's Office of Faculty Developoment to get a better understanding of what is needed in your promotion materials, so that you can start organizing those early and keep up to date on things."

The next packet class being offered by the School of Medicine for those going up for non-tenure promotions this year takes place July 25, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., For additional information reach out to our office and check out the resources on our Promotions and Tenure page.

Working on a grant proposal? Would you like assistance reviewing it?
DOM researchers can request grant writing and editing services from Janet Gross, PhD on projects including resubmissions, career development awards, and multicenter grants. These services are offered through a cost sharing effort between the department and the researcher's division, and it must be approved by both.
