Global Citizenship in a Challenging World

Hybrid CPG on International Development
Join us on Tuesday 25th October to discuss prospects for debt justice in Zambia. We'll hear from Shona Riach, UK Director of the International Monetary Fund; Eugene Kabilika, former Director of Caritas Zambia; and Line Christensen, Director of Jubilee Scotland.
UK fails to support Global Fund to fight diseases
The UK Government has failed to pledge funding for the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and was the only major world power not to raise its spending at a UN pledging event for the Global Fund.
Scottish Government provide funding for Pakistan flood relief
Funding of £500,000 is being provided by the Scottish Government to help with relief efforts in Pakistan after devastating floods left millions of people homeless and vast swathes of the country under water.

Friends of the Earth Scotland are hosting an online discussion on the importance of human rights and climate justice, and what these mean for COP27 and the climate movement.

Loss and Damage Action Day, on Thursday 22nd September, amplified voices from across the world to demand that governments commit to increased loss and damage funding.

Each month, we highlight a photograph from Facing the Crisis, our virtual exhibition documenting the human impact of the climate crisis. This photograph shows Yuma Nagata, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Yuma, originally from Japan, is the sustainability manager of a small but prized restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam called Pizza 4P’s that delivers exceptional Pizza made with farm-to-table ingredients, all sustainably produced and used to follow a zero-waste model, supported by the WasteAid Circular Economy Network.
