Women in Business Event in Rutland
Monday, May 22 was the She Means Business event in Rutland. The day was filled with networking with women and gender-expansive folks who own small businesses, workshops, and discussing opportunities with small business lenders. Many participants said the day was a success, the workshops were informative, and they heard varrying perspectives from business owners in different sectors in and outside of Rutland. Thank you to the hosts and sponsors, Vermont Small Business Development Center, Small Business Administration Vermont District Office, Vermont Women’s Fund, CEDRR, Downtown Rutland Partnership, and Center for Women & Enterprise. BIPOC Business and Workforce Development
The Vermont Professionals of Color Network (VT PoC) has been selected to provide technical assistance and development services to Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Color (BIPOC) business owners and professionals statewide. The partnership aims to expand and strengthen traditionally underserved BIPOC private sector businesses and workforce through outreach, support, training, technical assistance, networking, and resource navigation. VT PoC is experienced in this work and will expand opportunities to improve the experience, representation, and success of BIPOC professionals and businesses in the state. Read the

Applications Open for Forestry Accelerator Program
This four-month program is for North American startup and preseed stage companies that are commercializing new and improved products, services, and technology in the forestry industry. Accelerator benefits include connections to industry experts and key players, a rigorous commercialization curriculum, and a hybrid program with both virtual and in-person components. Perhaps the greatest recognition for a nurse to receive is the DAISY Award and especially during National Nurses Week. Killington Resort Receives NSAA Safety Award
We Are Gearing Up for Summer at The MINT!
Our youth programming at The Boiler is full STEAM ahead. Teen programs are offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Younger folks (ages 3+) are welcome to get creative during our STEAM Powered Saturdays. And we are offering three weeklong STEAM camps for ages 6-12. Registration of all of our programming can be found on our calendar.
Two of our shops have expanded programming in really fun ways! Stained Glass has evolved to include mosaics. Jennifer Judkins taught Introduction to Mosaics in April with Flower Pots and this month she’s rolling into Gazing Balls.
Upcoming Classes in the Glass Studio: Stained Glass: “i love you” in ASL pendant, Sunday June 18. Our Jewelry Studio has also evolved into Torch Fired Enamel, Silverware, and Copper. Christie Harris of Miralasku has been sharing her talents and making some beautiful pieces at The MINT.
We Are Looking for Volunteers Join us on Thursday, May 26 at 6:00 pm at West Street Grill to meet with some current RYP board members and about opportunities to join a committee. Member participation in Rutland Young Professionals’ committees is vital to the continued growth and development of our organization. Unlike many other area nonprofits, RYP has no paid staff members, and we rely on our volunteers for their time and talents. There are many benefits to volunteering with RYP, including growing your social and professional network and gaining valuable leadership experience that will make you attractive to future

JUNE 5 | 7:30 AM Vermont's Governor Phil Scott will attend the Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) Legislative Breakfast sponsored by Omya, Inc. The breakfast will take place on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 7:30 am at Southside Steakhouse. The cost is $20 per person and includes a breakfast buffet.
