What needs changing in your world?

Dear subscriber

The last time I wrote this newsletter was 28th February.

It seems unbelievable that the war in Ukraine is still going on and yet so little has changed for most of us.

So many things need fixing in our world it can feel a bit overwhelming and yet some people are fixing things, making things better and creating change that's good for all of us, not just themselves.

Two people have inspired me a lot recently. The first is Jon Alexander, co-founder of The New Citizenship Project and author of Citizens: Why the Key to Fixing Everything is All of Us. Jon is sharing stories about people all over the world coming together to do amazing things. His book is about who we are as humans, what we're capable of, and how we can work together to re-imagine and rebuild the communities we're a part of.

If you're near St Neots, Cambridgeshire, on Monday 23rd May, Jon is giving a free talk that I highly recommend. I'll be there to introduce him so it would be great to see you in person! If you can't make it to St Neots there are many other places in the world you can see Jon - details here: The Tour

The other person who has been changing my thinking is Lauren Hug, J.D., LL.M. Lauren and I met on Twitter back in 2009 and she has a very different view of social media to most people. Her books Digital Grace and Digital Kindness show how social media can be used for good by helping us to understand other people's points of view and embracing our differences. She is involved in education and helping young people navigate the justice system and regularly makes me look at things in a new way.

If you signed up to this newsletter to get business tips, I apologise for the diversions and hope extraordinary events explain why. I do have two articles published by Indie Cambs: Time and Money and  How Do You Make More Money? and my latest blog post is The Authenticity Question

I was also delighted to receive my badge for being a UK delegate at the sixty-sixth session of the Commission on the Status of Women Conference 2022.

That's it for now - as always I'll be around on LinkedIn and Twitter and hope to see you in St Neots next Monday or on-line somewhere soon - and I'd love to know what you're up to!

Best wishes
Ann
