D4Drivers, the UK’s largest provider of driver medicals, will be offering these in clinic space in the NCSEM-EM building. As part of this relationship D4Drivers will establish a new clinic within the NCSEM-EM facility, offering medical examinations required for UK drivers to obtain and retain Group 2 driving licences, essential for operating buses and lorries. D4Drivers is the UK’s largest provider of driver medicals, conducting over 100,000 annually nationwide. This collaboration aims to not only offer driver medicals but transform driver health research and bridge the gap between academic study and practical application. ![]() 2025 Global Climate and Health SummitThe Physiological Society is convening the Global Climate and Health Summit, which will place on 16-17 July 2025 at the QEII Centre in London and online. This free-to-attend, ground-breaking Summit, supported by Wellcome, will address the critical intersection of climate change and human health. The Summit will convene researchers, policymakers, people with lived experience, and climate and sustainability experts to tackle the biggest health challenges posed by the climate. ![]() ukactive and CIMSPA release weight management medication guidance for sport and physical activity sectorukactive and CIMSPA have published guidance to support the sport and physical activity sector in its understanding of the use of weight management medications within the market. The guidance forms part of the organisations’ commitment to develop tailored guidance for facility operators, giving them the confidence to welcome and support members taking weight-loss medications safely. It also provides the sector’s workforce with training and guidance opportunities to help empower them to support members and visitors who are taking weight management medications. Titled, ‘Guidance for sport and physical activity on understanding the use of weight management medications’, this resource is designed to support best practice and to help foster collaboration with healthcare providers to deliver holistic and sustainable health improvements. ![]() New AI in physio principles provide a ‘guideline for the future’The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) has published principles to guide the use of artificial intelligence in physiotherapy. The principles, developed by CSP staff with input from experts from practice and education, were earlier approved by the professional committee of members before going to the CSP Council for ratification. They are designed to cover the use of AI in practice, education, research and as a service delivery method. Reflecting the wide-ranging implications for the profession of the advances in AI, the principles cover accountability, safety and scope of practice among other issues.
