This year we can award four fellowships at $5,000 to research students in their second year. Academic merit, the essential nature of the travel and the likely benefit to you and the university must be shown in the application which will close 30 September. Okta Multi-factor Authentication As a part of ongoing work that ITDS is doing to improve the security and safety of our systems, Okta MFA will be implemented on additional systems, including CaRST Online, Aurora and Authorship Declaration form. More information. Unique Student Identifier (USI) A Unique Student Identifier [USI] is a reference number that creates an online record of your qualifications attained in Australia. All students need a USI to receive a qualification upon successful completion from 2023. To create your USI, please visit the Australian Government’s website. The personal details you provide here must be exactly the same as those on record at the University of Adelaide. Once created, log into Access Adelaide and enter your USI in the Statistical Section page, under the ‘Students’ menu. Please contact Ask Adelaide if you require assistance. For international and offshore students, further information is available here; offshore international students are not required to provide a USI. Postgraduate Scholarship OpportunitiesThe Adelaide Graduate Research School maintains a searchable database of available scholarship opportunities (both full scholarships and supplementary scholarships), funded by both the University of Adelaide and external funding bodies. While the majority of available scholarships are awarded as part of the standard admission and scholarship rounds for domestic and international students, some are awarded at different times throughout the year, and may have a separate application process. New internship opportunities Through a new collaboration, the University of Adelaide and South Australian tech company Data Effects have created four internship opportunities for PhD candidates, to work alongside an experienced team of science and engineering professionals on innovative biosecurity and biodiversity projects. The AGRS is seeking expressions of interest from PhD students in the fields of electronic and software engineering, artificial intelligence, and commercial and industrial design, to assist with the automation of wildlife and plant monitoring systems across local catchment areas and agricultural districts. Global Talent and Skilled Visa Programs The Department of Home Affairs is holding a webinar for University of Adelaide PhD students to speak about the Global Talent and Skilled Visa Programs for International Students who have completed PhD study in Australia. The subclass 858 Global Talent visa is a permanent visa for people who have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in an eligible field. This webinar will provide comprehensive information on the requirements to obtain a Global Talent Visa, how the Department selects eligible graduates, and what these students can do to maximise their chances of being granted such a visa. We are looking for a photographer for the upcoming Florey Postgraduate Conference to be held from 9am – 4.40pm on Wednesday 21st of September at the Adelaide Convention Centre. If you would like to contribute to a successful HDR event by being our photographer on the day, please e-mail agrsfacultysupp@adelaide.edu.au with 4 or 5 of your best indoor photos.
