Happy bday Spanish Bar!

When Adriano Gonzalez opened Spanish Bar in Seaford, he never imagined how popular it would become, so much so that even famous popstars, including Pink would visit!
"While strolling along the streets of Seaford towards the Beach, amongst the ducks, the idea of a beachside restaurant with a Spanish flair took shape. We sketched this dream in the sand, and later, fate led us to 20 Station St to bring our dream to life," Mr Gonzalez said. "Months of hard work, restless nights, paperwork, family recipes, interviews, and boundless anticipation, mixed with passion, aspirations, and most importantly, love, culminated in the grand opening of Spanish Bar on May 16, 2014."  He said "we aimed to add the missing touch to Seaford, and to be the proud pioneers of the positive transformation of this vibrant community over the past decade. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who supported and continues to support this dream." Happy 10th birthday Spanish Bar!

Hair care business finds new space after bus crash

In the 17 years that Wade and Daphne of Professional Hair Care Products had been tenants at 100 Young Street, Frankston, not once did they think a bus crashing into their shopfront would be the thing that closed their business.
Luckily for them the crash, which happened on 22 January, just moments after they left the building for the day, wasn't enough to end their long-standing and reputable enterprise. Getting in touch with Frankston City Council's Economic Development Team and a determined real estate agent, quickly found the pair a temporary site just meters down the same street.
"It was horrendous," Wade said. "Security called us and said there was multiple alarms going off. When we got there, we were so shocked. There was glass everywhere, including embedded in many of our bottles of product and the floor was ruined."
He said a large concrete lentil stopped the bus from entering the shop and destroying all of their stock.
"We are so lucky no-one was hurt during the whole thing, including the driver of the bus and the pizza shop guys next door, as they were there at the time."
Wade said their suppliers and the owner of the building had been very supportive during the ordeal, as was Linda from Nichols Crowder and Rhys from Frankston City Council.
"Linda was astronomical and Rhys jumped on it straight away, both working hard to find us a temporary location to set up shop and keep our business open. We are very grateful."
Professional Hair Care are now located at 130-132 Young Street, Frankston, and hope to back at their existing property by October.
