TAS Associations Roundtable Update
This week TAS were delighted to host their first in the Roundtable Series.
On Thursday 12 May, TAS had 20 diverse association leaders online to share and workshop challenges that many associations face.
This interactive and engaging session took a deep dive into two overarching topics of:
Membership Retention and Growth
Board Structure and Governance
The topics stemmed from two client surveys and feedback from attendees online and attendees at the Associations Forum.
During the 90 minute session we had thought provoking conversations and attendees having the opportunity to put forward their current challenges and seek solutions from other leaders around the room (albeit virtually).
The discussion points and some key take aways were:
COVID has been.... Rewarding/Challenging/Opportunistic
Challenge of growth to stay engaged with members - Utilising State based chapters was offered both as a solution as well as a disruptor!
Using QR codes effectively to enhance engagement as well as reduce waste
Board Checklists / Succession Planning = good governance
Can you issue Board Member mandates with regards to roles, responsibilities and time? Clearly defining position descriptions upon Board appointment offered as an alternative.
New word / term for the session = Ooching / Hesitancy syndrome
