On November 16, Dr. Devireddy, his patient, Olivia, and his team at Emory University Hospital Midtown successfully performed a groundbreaking minimally invasive procedure using the newly FDA-approved Paradise ultrasound balloon. This procedure, called renal denervation, aims to lower the patient's severely high blood pressure without the need for additional medication.
Although Emory has been studying this procedure for over a decade, it was unavailable outside of clinical trials until now. Olivia has recovered smoothly and was able to return home on the same day of the procedure.
