Click here ![]() Business Update - March 2025 ![]() Celebrating International Women’s Day with Monash Women’s Business Network PARKROYAL Monash Melbourne was abuzz on Tuesday 4 March, as a sold-out audience of almost 160 guests eagerly listened to Carolyn Creswell, founder and CEO of Carman’s Kitchen. Carolyn inspired the room with insights and stories from her own life, from buying a small muesli business for $1,000 at 18 to leading a multinational brand and creating a culture where people can thrive. It was an afternoon for connection, sharing knowledge and celebrating how far women in business have come and how we can all move forward together. We were thrilled to see many of our local Monash business community, as well as future young leaders from Brentwood Secondary College, Wheelers Hill Secondary College, and Oakleigh Grammar. Retail and Hospitality News ![]() Call to ease small business burden Federal crossbenchers will call to raise the small business threshold in the Fair Work Act from 15 to 25 employees to help ease regulatory burdens and reduce red tape. This would especially benefit those in the hospitality and retail sectors. The call is echoed in the Australian Retailer’s Association’s Federal Election submission. ![]() Understanding employment types and hiring options There are many ways to employ someone in a small business.
