New Travel Measures Address Latest Variant
Canada has new testing and isolation requirements for all incoming air travellers. All travellers must have proof of vaccination to travel in Canada.
All incoming air travellers, except those arriving from the US, must take a COVID-19 test regardless of
vaccination status. Travellers must self-isolate until they receive test results—self-isolate at a quarantine location as submitted to ArriveCan app.
Non-fully vaccinated international students granted entry to Canada are allowed to board connecting flights to Edmonton until January 14, 2022. All new and returning international students, regardless of vaccination status, must register their travel and quarantine plans through the Off-Campus Isolation and Travel Registry (OCITR).

Phew, another term is complete. Are you ready to celebrate? While many students relax and plan virtual gatherings, you might want to reflect and revamp your career strategies. Here are some tips:
- Review and reflect on what you have accomplished, noted on your resume/LinkedIn profile. Give yourself a pat on the back, say, “Well Done.”
- Reconnect with your contacts that you haven’t greeted for a while. It’s time to say “Happy Holidays” and continue your relationship.
- Send Holiday e-cards to your contacts or send a holiday greeting message via email or LinkedIn. Maintaining a long-lasting relationship with your connection is key to career success.
- Add one item to your New Year Resolution: your job searching plan. Don’t write, “I will get a job” — Make it more specific with a timeline, such as “I plan to reach out to five new connections every two weeks on LinkedIn.”

If you are fully vaccinated, get your Alberta Vaccine QR Code. The QR code will ease your access to Edmonton businesses, restaurants and events. Upload your international or out-of-province vaccine records to get your QR code. The Alberta Health Services System can
take two to
three weeks to see your submission. Follow these steps to submit your vaccine information.

University Closed Over Winter Break
The University of Alberta is closed from December 25, 2021, to January 3, 2022. On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, International Student Services reopens at 8:30 am. Make sure to take note of when the institution opens and closes throughout the year.

Your health is important. One way you can maintain your health during the pandemic is to get your flu shot. Flu shots are available at the University Health Centre for walk-ins (second floor SUB) and UHC Pharmacy for walk-ins and appointments (main floor SUB).
