Vape-Free Youth posters ![]() 'DON’T LET VAPING IN' POSTERS AVAILABLE FOR DISPLAY To go along with our recent 'Don’t Let Vaping In' campaign (more info below), we have developed 4 posters with QR codes embedded in them. These take viewers to the Don’t Let It In hub aimed at supporting young people. The posters are available from Callum cmckendry@cancertas.org.au and would look great wherever you choose to put them up! Is the Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) inhalator still available? ![]() The NRT inhalator is no longer being manufactured; according to the manufacturer the material needed to make the mouthpiece is no longer available. There may be some inhalators still in stock at retailers but once those have sold out, inhalators will no longer be available as a smoking cessation aid. NRT products help reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms. There are other TGA-approved NRT products available. Patches, which are also available on the PBS with a doctor's prescription, gum, lozenges and mouth spray. NRT products are sold at chemists and some supermarkets. Update on our award-winning 'Don't let Vaping In' youth-focused campaign ![]() The statewide campaign highlights the insidious nature of vaping addiction for young Tasmanians aged 12-24, and provides support for those experiencing addiction. The campaign runs from mid November 2024 to June 2025. Some key figures that came out of the campaign so far:

Regular, ongoing support can make a big difference on a quit journey ![]() Getting regular support through the first weeks of giving up smoking can make a big difference to a person's successful quitting journey. Quitline offers an additional level of support, regular and ongoing, alongside that of health professionals and service providers. What does that additional level of support look like? When Quitline recently spoke to them, they had been quit for 10 days and were feeling strongly motivated to stay tobacco free. They are successfully coping in environments that previously triggered their smoking and looking forward to celebrating their quit attempt milestones. We look forward to providing that extra level of support to your patients/clients to help them stop smoking. It will run on television, radio, billboards and bus backs, and social and digital media channels.
