TERM 1 WEEK 6 - 06 MARCH 2024 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGEDear Parents and Caregivers, I hope that the long weekend provided an opportunity for you and your families to enjoy some quality time together as we head into the second half of the term. It's our 70th Birthday! Easter Egg Donations Junior Aquatics Day and Senior Swimming Carnival Thank you to Mr Brown and Mr Short for their organisation of these events last week. At the Junior Aquatics Day there were plenty of smiles as the children participated in a number of activities in their House groups. Who knew the children could get so wet so quickly! It was wonderful to see the number of parents who were able to join us on the day so thank you for your support. Congratulations to Acacia for taking out the Senior Swimming Carnival. This event is not possible without parent volunteers who work tirelessly all day to ensure the smooth running of the day. For this we say “Thank you!” Pupil Free Day (Tuesday 12 March) Sacramental Meetings (Thursday 7 March) Harmony Week (Friday 22 March) Uniform Shop Changes If you are unable to visit the Uniform Shop for purchasing items, you are able to complete the uniform order form which is located on our website and School Stream and submit to the office. Your order will be fulfilled and given to your eldest child. NAPLAN Testing (Beginning 13 March) It can support school improvement by enabling teachers to monitor their students' progress over time against the national measure to identify strengths and areas to improve teaching programs. It provides additional information to support teacher judgement about improvement in a child's level of literacy and numeracy. NAPLAN also allows parents to see how their child progresses against national literacy and numeracy standards over time. As students progress through their school years, checks are made to see how well they are learning the essential skills of reading, writing, and mathematics – skills that will set them on the path to success as adults. NAPLAN tests are one aspect of each school's assessment and reporting process and do not replace teachers' extensive, ongoing assessments of each student's performance. Good luck to the Year 3 and 5 students during this time. Kiss and Drive For the safety of our children, I would like to remind the community that Kiss and Drive is for the use of families dropping off their children or picking them up in the afternoon. The bays that are marked on the inside near the church are not to be used for parent parking. Your cooperation in this matter is much appreciated. Thank you and God Bless.
