Meet your buddy and social constellation!

Your buddy and social constellation group are a chance to get to know your fellow NYSFers before and during the program! There will be opportunities for your constellation group to get together online, work through challenges, and chat about your favourite experiences of the program so far. Your buddy will usually be from the same state or territory, and they'll have just as much STEM passion as you!

See if you can find your buddy on Discord and introduce yourself!

Spotlight on the Digital Program

We've locked in the most awe-inspiring, conversation-starting, future-looking speakers and visits for you in January. Our digital program has no geographical boundary, so we are expanding your options! Closer to home, we have many fantastic experiences with STEM organisations around Australia.

*Please note that visits are subject to availability and change.

Announcing Dr Karl as a Keynote Speaker!

We are super excited to announce the one and only Dr Karl Kruszelnicki AM (University of Sydney) as a Keynote Speaker for the 2023 NYSF Year 12 Program!

This is your chance to ask your curly questions and to have a peak into the world of a science communicator on the front-line of communicating science to the public.

Get inspired at Careers Day

Careers Day is your opportunity to explore a wide range of employment possibilities, and hear from people who are making a real impact through their STEM jobs.

Hear from experts about the work that they do and the opportunities available within their organisations, as well as hearing about a variety of different career paths and STEM journeys.

Science friction: When science hits the headlines

Join the Australian Science Media Centre to discuss how science and the media interact. Science can take decades to give results; the media wants answers in minutes. But with issues like climate change, energy, and COVID on the front pages, the need for a public empowered by knowledge has never been greater and like it or not the public still get most of their scientific information through the media. But what drives the media? Are they your friend or foe?

Join the NYSF social channel

The NYSF Discord is a place to chat with your fellow NYSFers! You don't have to join, but it's a fun way for you to connect with each other.

Only 2023 NYSF participants, student staff volunteers, and NYSF staff are accepted into this server, and it will be moderated.
