Rep Season UnderwayBowls Auckland kicked off the 2025–26 rep season with its biggest launch evening yet, held Wednesday at Royal Oak Bowls. Performance Lead Paul Mackinnon spoke on What is Talent?, highlighting ability, potential, and performance foundations, supported by inspiring case studies. With squads and teams named, attention now turns to the opening fixtures this weekend. The 1–5s feature fresh faces stepping up after strong campaigns last season, while the women’s premier & development squads welcome new leadership under Trish Croot and Ian Fisher. The men’s squads see changes too, with Tony Grantham again headlining a youthful Premier side, led by Peter Blucher with Sean Hird and Tere Brunton alongside. Competition will be intense, with North Harbour, Bay of Plenty, and Northland all fielding strong teams. 👉 Read more on the season launch Clubs approve new Bowls Auckland ConstitutionAhead of Auckland President’s Day celebrations, Bowls Auckland held a Special General Meeting on Sunday 28 September with an important item on the agenda — adopting a new constitution. This step is part of the re-registration process required under the new Incorporated Societies Act 2022, something every bowling club will also need to complete before April 2026. It was fantastic to see 27 club delegates in attendance, and even better to see the new constitution unanimously approved. The show of support highlighted the unity and collaboration within our bowling community, ensuring Bowls Auckland is well set to move forward in line with the new Act. Howick 2025 President’s Day ChampionsPresident’s Day at Kohimarama BC saw record numbers, sunshine, and plenty of camaraderie. With 34 teams and more than 150 participants, the day was a true celebration of club volunteers and the spirit of bowls. Howick claimed the Champions title after an impressive four-from-four performance. Carlton Cornwall also shone on Green A, edging out four other sides on shot difference in a tightly contested section. Open to players (1–10 years’ experience) and Development-qualified coaches, EPAC offers growth, mentoring, and future pathways in bowls. Sessions kick off this October across Auckland clubs. Pringle Park turns blue for Prostate Cancer-- Rob Alker Pringle Park Bowling Club was buzzing as members Debbie Millar and Rob Alker hosted a memorable Blue September event in support of Prostate Cancer. The evening brought together friends, families, and supporters in a celebration of community spirit and a strong commitment to raising awareness and funds. The night’s success was powered by incredible local backing, with more than 20 businesses donating prizes that kept auctions, raffles, and giveaways buzzing. A talented local band kept the energy high, while survivors Richard and Dean shared powerful personal stories that highlighted the importance of early detection and community support. The outcome was outstanding — an impressive $6,500 raised through ticket sales, raffles, and auctions. The club was buzzing with stallholders, visitors, and plenty of friendly faces, with both members and the wider community turning out in great numbers. Guests also had the chance to step onto the green and try their hand at bowls, with people of all ages giving it a go and having a lot of fun. Events like this truly showcase the spirit of our club.
