Bernat Klein Fellowships
Film Release Announcement

Launched this year, the Bernat Klein Fellowships were devised in partnership with the Bernat Klein Foundation. The Fellowships were awarded to the Sweden-based textile artist Moira Nilsson and the Scotland-based textile designer Mariam Syed. Taking place in March this year, the four-week residencies gave both artists the opportunity to engage with the work and archives of textile designer and artist Bernat Klein.

We are pleased to share a short film documenting the the residencies at Cove Park, the Bernat Klein Fellowships Symposium, and Mariam's subsequent residency in Stockholm hosted by project partner Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts, and Design.

You can also read a feature by Mariam Syed on her Swedish residency, hosted by Konstfack, on the Journal pages of the Bernal Klein Foundation website.

We are grateful to the William Grant Foundation and to the Embassy of Sweden in London for their generous support for this programme.

NAARCA Residencies as Climate Actors

Daria Kravchuk, curator and Head of Partnerships at .ART, interviewed Alex Marrs, Senior Producer at Cove Park, to explore how international artist residencies like the Nordic Alliance of Artists' Residencies on Climate Action (NAARCA) are driving climate action through cross-border collaboration.

In this conversation, Alex shares perspectives on the Alliance’s collaborative methodologies, the complexities of embedding sustainability into institutional frameworks, and the expanding role of residencies as both cultural and ecological agents.

Read the full interview here.

NAARCA unites Artica Svalbard (Norway), Cove Park (Scotland), Narsaq International Research Station (Greenland), Saari Residence (Finland), and Skaftfell Art Center (Iceland) to collaborate on research, commissions, institutional change, residency exchange, and public education around climate action.

Cove Park 25th Anniversary Friday Events
Sayan Chanda, 20 June 2025

Join us for a special Open Studio event with London-based artist Sayan Chanda, part of our Friday Event Series celebrating Cove Park’s 25th Anniversary.

This is a unique chance to meet Sayan and see his work in progress. His striking practice reinterprets votive objects, folk divinities, and mythic stories as hybrid, ambiguous forms, framed through themes of identity, gender perception, and postcolonial thought. Using fibre and clay, and techniques such as weaving, stitching, quilting, dyeing, and hand-building, Sayan creates breathtaking work that exists in a speculative landscape untethered from place, culture, and time.

This event is free, but spaces are limited. Please reserve your place via our Ticket Tailor page.

For further details about the Open Studio or directions to Cove Park, please get in touch with Alex Marrs (Senior Producer).

Space Hire 2025

Space Hire welcomes arts organisations, companies, and community groups to Cove Park for meetings and away days. Recent Space Hire participants include: The Common Guild, Comhairle nan Leabhraichean / The Gaelic Books Council, Glasgow International, Missing in Architecture (Glasgow School of Art), The Mount Stuart Trust, Rhubaba, Scottish Opera, and the University of Glasgow (Contemporary Art & Curation).

In 2025 we will continue to offer beautiful spaces and facilities with outstanding views at very competitive rates throughout the year. We are also happy to put groups in touch with local caterers if lunch is required.

Please submit an enquiry form or contact Nicola Jamieson directly for more information and to discuss your specific requirements.

Missing in Architecture hosted a lunch at Cove Park to bring an interdisciplinary group of researchers, policymakers, community activists, industry professionals and artists, creating an opportunity for cross-pollination of ideas and experiences, fostering long-term collaboration through the meal, titled FOOD FOR THOUGHT. We were delighted to be at Cove Park, the perfect setting for a collaborative lunch! Nestled around the heart of the building – between hearth and kitchen, the building held us and allowed convivial conversation. An opportunity to step out of the city and busy lives, Cove Park and the surroundings allowed us all to slow down and enjoy some time and space to enjoy the tasting and testing of ideas.
