Message from CEO
Hello Members,
Well what a fun morning it was on Tuesday with the Media launch of WODONGA GEMS. I am so pleased to see so many of you brave the Winter chill to get some fresh air, be with others and laugh!
A special mention to the Team at SQUAD recruitment. Your colourful corporate headwear has created a new condition called Beanie Envy in Wodonga, but in now way is that a bad thing!
Looking forward to seeing so much participation, fun and friendly rivalries over the next six weeks and we will be setting the date for our GEMS Awards Prize Night very soon so that you can book it into your calendars. Remember when you participate, use #wodongagemawards and tag @businesswodonga so we can collate your points scores.
Business After Hours is coming up on July 27 at Hyphen, so still time to book in so that we know for venue capacity and catering purposes that you are coming. Hyphen is an amazing asset of Wodonga’s and this event gives you the opportunity to see and feel everything that it has to offer, as well as catching up with your connections and strangers that you have not before, including some of our newest Members.

Gems Challenges Next Week
Wellbeing with a Difference
All of us on the border have been through so much and still have many challenges ahead of us. So how do we put some focus on our own wellbeing? BY MAKING IT FUN!
Business Wodonga will be running a 6 week fun competition called The Wodonga Gem Awards. There will be daily, weekly prizes, scavenger hunts, snowball fights, costumes and so much more! We will be working with businesses, teams and local owners to have fun and make positive changes one small challenge at a time.
TINY IS MIGHTY.
Each week will have a different theme and each day will have a different game or challenge. Some are small and can be done in just a minute or two. Some have more steps but will be equally fun to complete with coworkers, friends or family. There will be an online scoreboard so you can keep track of this friendly Business Community community competition. Challenge a fellow business, share it with your friends or just see how many points you can stack up during the 6 weeks.
Box Full of Happiness
Make a special box of 5 little things that make you feel happy. Take a picture of the things. If you can, include a note explaining what you like about each thing.
Don't Make Me Laugh!
Learn a new joke and tell at least one person. *Honour system invoked for this one. Points are only awarded if you made them smile! 🙂
Share it on socials for 1 point for each smile, 5 points if you made at least one person laugh.
Swap Meet
Swap-meet day! Meet up out front of the Wodonga Senior Centre and hold a yard sale with us. Except, this is not a regular yard-sale, it’s a yard-giveaway: Wodonga Community Bazaar. Bring up to 5 items that you can bear to part with and set up shop. And remember, no money must change hands and no bartering! All items must be gifted to passers-by and everything must go!
Snap a pic of what you are bringing and share it on socials for a massive 20 points
Lunchtime Lookiloo
Who doesn’t like taking a peek into someone else’s fridge? We want to see what everyone’s fridge looks like with a bit of styling. Line up every item in the door of the refrigerator from shortest to tallest.
I see your TRUE COLOURS
It time for a colour audit. Go somewhere outside and note all the different colours you can see in a certain amount of time. This can be completed over the weekend with family or friends but don’t forget to either take a picture, make a drawing or painting, or note down all that you saw. As we all know, Audits need solid data to be valid.
Share your data on socials for a big 10 points
Jobs Expo Submission EOI
This form is to collate the expressions of interest for any businesses wishing to be an exhibitor, attendee or if you would like to advertise a job posting during the event on 1st September, 2pm-8pm.
We are also gathering EOI's for an opportunity for potential employees, students, employment agencies or other interested parties to have tours of your business facility.
Please submit details of any job vacancies that you have and wish Business Wodonga to post on your behalf during the Wodonga Job Fair Expo.

Hyphen – Wodonga Library Gallery is our city’s cultural hub, a regionally based, state-of-the-art facility located in Wodonga’s CBD will be the host for Business After Hours this July.

Hi all,
It is the first week of our fantastic Gem Awards and I know I am enjoying every moment of it! Fun, prizes, laughs and most importantly, BLING!!!! You can win a prize every single day and be a part of the grand prize event. Can't wait to see what everyone is up to next week. Make sure you keep an eye out for me out and about in my eye catching Gem outfit.
I will be launching something new also. 'Off the Cuff'. I will be spotlighting members in a fun more personal way. Getting to know our business friends like this will hopefully make us a even stronger community that will grow more together.
