Refugee Housing Solutions Transition Update

A note from the Refugee Housing Solutions team:

For nearly five years (since 2022), Refugee Housing Solutions (RHS) has convened and served refugee resettlement providers and supporters across the United States with tailored resources, technical assistance, training, partnerships, innovative projects, and national coordination. We have done all this with the goal of increasing access to dignified affordable housing for refugees and other newcomers.

RHS bridged knowledge gaps between housing providers — from individual landlords to large property management groups — with the wealth of expertise held by resettlement providers, supporters and sponsors, and refugee newcomers themselves. RHS has been a one-stop-shop and living resource for one of the most challenging components in the work of welcome: securing and maintaining safe, dignified affordable housing.

RHS will conclude its current grant period on September 29, 2026, and CWS has begun a thoughtful closeout and transition process.

We want to thank the partners, practitioners, advocates, service providers, housing experts, and community leaders who have contributed to RHS over the past several years. This work has been shaped by your expertise, trust, referrals, feedback, collaboration, and commitment to improving housing availability for refugees and other newcomers.

RHS is deeply grateful to the many partners who helped build and strengthen this work. As decisions are finalized, CWS will continue to share updates, preserve public access to high-value resources, and explore opportunities to carry forward housing support in new ways.

Partners interested in exploring future collaboration around housing technical assistance, training, digital resources, and/or state- and community-specific needs are welcome to contact Lindsey Guerrero (lguerrero@cwsglobal.org).

RHS is gathering reflections from partners, stakeholders, and users who have engaged with RHS since its launch in 2022. We greatly value your input and invite you to complete a brief 10- to 15-minute survey to share your feedback with us.
