Dear friends. Thank you for your continued support of Streamlined Ventures. We wanted to share with you some of the recent developments at our firm and with our portfolio companies. Since our last update, we have started investing from our new fourth seed fund, we have invested in seven new companies, we have hired an additional team member and have been able to help numerous portfolio companies raise significant follow-on funding. New Investments from our Streamlined Ventures FundsThe investment focus areas for our seed funds include the transformation of vertical markets through the application of: (i) Data Science and Component AI technologies; and (ii) Emerging Computing Models such as Quantum Computing, blockchain-based computing, Robotics and AR/VR. We have made our final seed investment from our third seed fund, bringing the total number of companies in that fund to thirty-three. With our fourth seed fund underway, we have already made our first investment and are looking at making additional new seed investments from that fund. Listed below are the companies we have partnered with since our last newsletter. FORM Remodel is developing a home remodeling experience and marketplace powered by computer vision. They are starting with kitchen remodels, showing users a realistic visual representation of what the remodel will look like in their home and then allowing them to ‘order’ that kitchen using FORM’s automated processes. Kea. is building an automated AI-powered phone ordering system for restaurants. Float aggregates various transportation options, guiding you towards the smartest one using AI, and enables booking any form of travel through the app. Balloonr’s key initial product feature is the ability to anonymously share ideas within a team and collaborate on those ideas to get the best insights. Subscale aims to revolutionize the industrial machining market using AI and robotics. The company streamlines customer interaction and automates the production process through vertical integration. RedDoor utilizes sophisticated data science techniques to offer the fastest way to get pre-approved for a mortgage. RedDoor utilizes large data sets and algorithms to make quick decisions on the pre-approvals. Vitau is an intelligent pharmacy that sends individuals their medications monthly. They are based in Mexico and aim to build this functionality across many Latin American countries.
Opportunity FundOur Opportunity Fund continues to invest in promising companies from our Seed Funds as they raise additional later-stage funding. Recently, we invested in one company from our latest Opportunity Fund - Bolt Financial. We Are Growing!We have added a new team member to the Streamlined Ventures Team: Nicky Kamra. Nicky joined Streamlined Ventures’ investment team as a Principal. Prior to Streamlined Ventures, Nicky worked at Balderton Capital, a leading VC fund in Europe while completing her MBA. Previous to her MBA, she was Director of Growth and Operations at Skillshare and worked on strategy and operations at Wildfire, which was acquired by Google. What’s new with our PortfolioIn the past six months, we have seen a lot of progress with many of our seed portfolio companies. A number of them raised meaningful follow-on rounds and are listed below. Some financings in the portfolio are undisclosed and we will outline them in our next newsletter. DoorDash raised $600M Series G financing DoorDash is an on-demand food delivery service. DoorDash raised that round at a $12.6 Billion valuation. Rappi raised a $1Bn Series D financing Rappi is an on-demand delivery mobile app that allows users in Latin America to shop for groceries and other goods and send items through a courier service. Bolt raised $68M Series B financing Bolt is reinventing the eCommerce payments stack, providing frictionless checkout and 100% fraud coverage. FLYR forecasts future airfare volatility through complex data analysis. |
