Mt Albert new champions for 1-5 InterclubAfter a week of wild weather, the skies cleared just in time for the 1-5 Interclub—and the action didn’t disappoint. With natural greens out of action, 24 teams hit the carpet across six host clubs for a jam-packed Saturday of competitive play. Mt Albert Blue battled through a tense quarter and semi, with Ryan Hill shining in the singles, before meeting Royal Oak’s Gemini side in a stacked final. With 11 rep squad players on show, the quality was top-tier. Mt Albert's pairs and singles brought it home, crowning them champions for 2025! The 2025 Auckland Twilight Bowls Final lit up Mt Albert BC last Sunday. With 19 teams from 16 clubs and a day of fast games, fierce fun, and cool tunes, the vibe was enticing. From first-timers to returning champs, everyone brought their eagerness. Congrats to Rowbowl Cops from Mt Albert on taking out the title! Fellow club mates, F Putin claimed second, just ahead of ZE Bowlers from Pt Chevalier. Thanks to all who came and competed—it was an epic day. The women take on the Centre Singles, with section play across the city and post-section action at Royal Oak on Sunday. Expect fireworks in Section 2, where rising star Henrietta Scott faces Gloria Teinaki, and keep an eye on a stacked Section 5 featuring Jeffcoat, Longney, and Hemingway.
