Discover the Power
of Connection: When
I Becomes We
Welcome to Meee Moments #83 This month, we're exploring how I becomes We. The image above is from At Home with the Furys on Netflix. Behind the fame and the belts, Tyson Fury shows something we don't often see — vulnerability. He reflects openly on his battles with depression and mental health. And then there's Paris — holding it all together, running a home, raising seven children, navigating life with someone the world sees as invincible. Strip everything back — the fame, the money, the success — and what's left? Life. Family. The We. Because none of us are meant to do this alone. How does I become We? Image courtesy of Netflix.

Podcast #68 – Jacqui Lemaitre “Leading with Heart”
I’ve often wondered what really shapes a great leader — and whether it’s something you’re born with, or something you grow into over time. What I love about this conversation with Jacqui is the honesty in her journey. School wasn’t always easy. Learning felt challenging, and at times she struggled to find her place. And yet, through belief, resilience, and a deep desire to make a difference, she went on to become a Headteacher and CEO, leading others with clarity and compassion. Jacqui didn’t step into leadership for status or recognition. She stepped into it for people. For connection. For impact. Because at the heart of her story is a simple but powerful
shift — from I to We. She reminds us that leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating the conditions where others can thrive. It’s about listening, supporting, and showing up — even when it’s hard. And perhaps that’s the real magic:
not standing above others, but standing with them. Because when I becomes We… leadership becomes something far more human. Listen now: Just Meee Podcast What’s helped you find your way? We’d love to hear: we@meee.global

When I Becomes We: The Magic Ingredient in Organisations
In every organisation, there’s a moment when something shifts. It’s when I becomes We. Not through policy or process, but through people. We often focus on performance and outcomes, but beneath it all is something more powerful: the human need to belong and be part of something bigger. Jonathan Haidt describes this as our ability to move from being individual (“chimp”) to collective (“bee”) — becoming “hivish” when we share purpose, values, and
connection. When that happens, organisations come alive. People don’t just show up — they care. They collaborate, take ownership, and thrive. At Meee, we call this shift The Magic Ingredient — the small, intentional ways we think, act, and show up every day. It’s found in:
• Psychological safety
• Trust and consistency
• Shared purpose
• Meaningful conversations These aren’t big gestures — but they create real change. That’s why we’re launching a new series of live events — not as compliance sessions, but as thinking spaces to explore what truly drives engagement, wellbeing, and performance. Because culture doesn’t change by chance.
It changes through how we show up. And when we get it right… I becomes We. If you’d like to attend or host a session:

“Humans are not a particularly intelligent species… we just happen to be the best cultural learners on the planet.”
Joseph Henrich
The Secret of Our Success —
What Really Makes Us Thrive
The power of cultural learning
I’ve just finished The Secret of Our Success by Joseph Henrich, and it offers a fascinating reminder that none of us succeed alone. Henrich explores how human progress isn’t just down to individual intelligence or talent, but to something much deeper — our ability to learn from others, share knowledge, and build on what’s come before us. Culture, collaboration, and connection are what truly set us apart. As Henrich writes:
“Humans are not a particularly intelligent species… we just happen to be the best cultural learners on the planet.”
That really stood out. It’s a powerful shift in thinking. Success isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about being open, curious, and willing to learn from those around us. It’s about recognising that the “good stuf” in our lives often comes through others: shared ideas, experiences, and support. So this month, take a moment to reflect:
Who are you learning from?
Who are you helping grow?
And what knowledge or kindness might you pass on? Because our greatest strength isn’t what we know — it’s what we share. We’d love to hear your thoughts:

When I Becomes We We often begin life focused on the “I”. My goals.
My success.
My challenges. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s where awareness starts. But something powerful happens when “I” begins to shift into “We”. When we realise that our lives are shaped not just by what we do, but by how we connect, support, and show up for others. Success starts to look different. It’s no longer just about what we achieve, but what we contribute. Not just about how far we go, but who we bring with us. Because the truth is, very little of what we do is ever done alone. Behind every step forward, there are people who encouraged us, challenged us, listened to us, or simply stood beside us. And in turn, we become that for others. “When I becomes We” is where something deeper begins. More understanding.
More empathy.
More impact. It’s in the small moments — a conversation, a kind word, a shared idea — that we move from individual effort to collective strength. This month, take a moment to reflect: Where can “I” become “We” in your world? Because when we shift from thinking about ourselves to thinking about each other, everything changes.
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
African Proverb
What if the most powerful shift you could make isn’t about doing more… but about doing it together? What if this season isn’t about standing stronger alone, but about recognising the strength that comes from connection, shared experiences, and collective growth? The My Meee app is here to support that journey. With reflective tools, mood tracking, and thoughtful prompts, it creates space to better understand yourself, and in doing so, deepen your connection with others. Because growth isn’t just personal. It’s shared.
It’s supported.
It’s strengthened through “we”. Not Separate. Connected.
Not Isolated. Supported. This month, take a moment to notice where “I” can become “We” in your life, in your conversations, your relationships, your work, and your community. Because when we come together, we don’t lose who we are. We become more of it. Let the My Meee app support you on that journey, one reflection, one connection, one moment at a time. Available for iOS and Android
Every moment is an opportunity to connect a little more. To notice how we think, act, and show up — not just for ourselves, but for each other. As we move through April, may this be a time to recognise the strength that comes from togetherness — shaped by shared experiences, common values, and a quiet, collective resilience. This is our chance to focus on what really matters, and to bring that into the moments we create together each day. Where can we connect more deeply?
What strengths can we share?
What small action might bring us closer than we expect? Thank you, as always, for being part of the Meee journey. Find it. Live it. Share it. Because when I becomes We… everything changes.
