![]() December 02, 2021 House of Representatives Passes Continuing Resolution to Extend Government FundingTonight, by a vote of 221-212, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 6119, a continuing resolution (CR) to extend government funding until February 18, 2022. With this vote, Congress seeks to prevent a government shutdown when the current funding expires at the end of December 3rd, 2021. In addition to extending government funding at current fiscal year 2021 (FY21) levels, the bill also provides a $7 billion increase to pay for resettling Afghan refugees. The bill now goes to the Senate, which is expected to pass it at some point tomorrow before funding expires.
