Donate Your Marriott Bonvoy Points to Help Refugees and Newcomers Secure Temporary Housing

In celebration of World Refugee Day on June 20, Refugee Housing Solutions (RHS) announced a new collaboration with Marriott International.

This initiative allows Marriott Bonvoy members to support newly arriving refugees and other newcomers to the United States by donating their hotel rewards points, which will then be converted to cash donations to help U.S. resettlement agencies provide short-term accommodations for refugees.

The National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) published this year’s edition of its Out of Reach report, which shows the hourly wage needed for a full-time worker in the U.S. to afford rental housing without spending more than 30 percent of their income. The data is reported by state, metropolitan area, and county, and the report also offers intersectional data and policy recommendations.
