Kia ora ,

Previously we contacted you regarding the review of changes to our Unitec Covid-19 Policy to fit the updated Covid-19 Protection Framework.

The key update to the policy is that Unitec Staff and Students are no longer required to be vaccinated to enter our campuses and proof of vaccination status will not be needed, except for those departments, such as healthcare, where the mandate is still in effect.

Confirmed Covid-19 policy

Following the review, and the minor amendments we've made, I can confirm that our updated policy includes the following:

  • While we strongly encourage everyone who is eligible to be fully vaccinated, it will no longer be a requirement to be vaccinated to enter our campuses.
  • Kaimahi (staff) and ākonga (students) will no longer need to show proof of vaccination status, except in certain situations where it is still mandated e.g. health care
  • Rapid Antigen Tests will be available to be used where deemed appropriate by health and safety.
  • It is still mandatory to wear a face mask in most campus spaces (such as in buildings that are open to the public like the cafeteria, libraries, public foyers and teaching spaces), and we strongly recommend wearing a mask at all times when on campus.

Take care everyone, and we look forward to welcoming some of you back to campus very soon.
