Our Safire team includes some amazing women who have been with the company for ten years or more. Here are some of the ladies who have been with us the longest - over twenty years. Their names feature on the Safire Long Service Tree, which is displayed at head office to pay tribute to employees who have served the company for many years. These Safire women stalwarts truly are our head office heroines!

A STELLAR STUDENT

17-year-old Willemien Kotzé from Mtunzini will represent South Africa at the NASA United Space School (USS) as one of an elite group of students. Willemien was chosen after a rigorous selection process including in-depth assignments on orbital mechanics, space law, recent launches, engines, habit building, and the intricacies of spacesuit functionality.

SYMBIOTIC RESCUES

The snail kite was on the brink of extinction but appears to be making a comeback thanks to an invasive species of snail. In a similar situation, the world’s rarest raptor, the Mauritian kestrel, has found its ideal habitat in an invasive plant that causes problems for other native species. Both cases have presented conservationists with a dilemma.
