St Patrick's Day this year was observed on Thursday, 17 March. Although the holiday originally started as a Christian feast day celebrating the life of St. Patrick and the spreading of Christianity to Ireland today it is a day of revelry and a celebration of all things Irish... and all things green! National Regional IntercentreSunday, 20 March 2022 Congratulations to Auckland players selected and competing in the National Regional Intercentre event, this Sunday. This year’s format has been changed by Bowls New Zealand to a regional event due to the ongoing COVID concerns from many of the centres competing, which was to have been held at North Harbour, this week. Auckland will now be playing against the Far North, Northland and North Harbour hosted at Mangawhai Bowling Club on Sunday. The Regional winners will then compete in the Nationals to be played in Wellington on 15 & 16 October. Rep quad seriesSunday, 13 March 2022 Catch up on the full results here...

With four wins and 26 ends, the composite team of John Brown (St Heliers), Mike Rapson (Ellerslie) and Scott Jolly (Carlton Cornwall) was a winning combination at the Tuesday Open Triples - pictured below. 20 teams took to the greens on this stunning day - our sponsor Sibuns Funeral Directors and Advisors was most likely responsible for the weather! With over 100 years of service to the Auckland community, they know how to deliver memorable days.
Three dates remain in our season: 29 March, 12 & 26 April. Kohi welcomes
single entries and is always ready to create composite teams (we had four in the mix this week) so don't be shy about joining in.

Kohimarama Bowling Club
12-13 March 2022
It was a great weekend for a great competition for this club-drawn Triples event. The Robinson Cup originated at the Mission Bay Women’s Bowling Club in 1959, the year M.B.W.B.C. opened. Dod Robinson was made a Life Member for all she had done in establishing M.B.W.B.C. Dod served as Club President 1990-91.
Originally the tournament was played as Fours and the Skips entered their team. The Robinson Cup had been recognised as one of the most important tournaments of the season. Peg Harris recalls "there were so many entrants it spilled over into multiple Saturdays! When the club numbers started to dwindle, the teams became Triples."
Dod directed this tournament was always to be played on a Saturday. This statute remains.
Congratulations to the 2022 Robinson Cup winners: Jim, Bev and Mark.

13 March 2022
It was a nice fine day for Glen Eden's St Patrick's tournament on Sunday.
We welcomed teams from all over town, including Royal Oak, Howick, Carlton Cornwall and Grey Lynn. The fun and camaraderie were evident as teams celebrated in the most appropriate manner possible.... on the green, dressed in green and ending with a cold one or two at the end of play!
