Attendees will also learn about employment assistance programs and the Expanding Horizons initiative, a Monash Council partnership with Holmesglen Institute aiming to enhance workplace inclusivity for people with disabilities. The Australian Government's Disability Employment Services (DES) can provide eligible employers with a range of free services, including help to employ and retain workers with disability and access to financial incentives and support. DES providers can also help workers with a disability, injury or health condition find employment. Eastern Innovation, Mulgrave Empowering Women Entrepreneurs (EWE) Program survey In recent years, Australia has seen a significant rise in women taking the leap into entrepreneurship. Despite this progress, unique challenges still remain. Eastern Innovation is developing a program for female entrepreneurs to address these challenges, and has set up a survey to help guide the program. Female entrepreneurs in Monash are invited to complete the survey by 30 November 2024. Sustainable Business News Safe disposal of batteries and electronic waste Did you know that it is illegal to put batteries and electronic waste (any item with a plug, battery or cord) in any bin? These items are hazardous and can start fires in bins, garbage trucks and waste facilities, putting people and the environment at risk. You can take batteries and electronic waste to the Monash Recycling and Waste Centre, 380 Ferntree Gully Road, Notting Hill (fees and limits may apply).
