Business chambers and trader groups can access grants of up to $20,000 to deliver locally led projects that support multicultural businesses in Victoria.

Some of the projects delivered could include upskilling in digital and in-language marketing, local business expo events or opportunities for meaningful networking.

Australian Government funds new centres for business AI adoption

The Australian Government has announced four AI Adopt Centres under the $17 million AI Adopt Program, which will act as a 'front door' to connect small and medium sized enterprises with AI expertise.

AI Adopt Centres will work to provide guidance and free specialist training to help businesses and staff develop specific skills to effectively manage AI.

The Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) has launched a micro-credentialing program designed to enhance the skills of those in the tourism, events and hospitality sectors. 

Through the Typsy online platform, individuals and employees can access specialised training to improve customer service, adopt new innovations, and improve productivity.

Digital driver licence: what to know when checking IDs

VicRoads has released a video about the new Victorian digital driver licence for businesses such as bars, restaurants, retailers and supermarkets, and how they can use the new digital licence to verify a customer's age or identity.

The Australian Taxation Office has made it simpler for you to know when you need to charge goods and services tax (GST) for combination products.

Water, yoghurt, popping pearls and sports gels are just some of the foods that have had recent changes.

Eastern Innovation, Kandu Earth and the City of Monash have partnered to create a free program specifically designed to help small to medium sized manufacturers navigate carbon reporting and become more sustainable. 

The Sustainability Skills Labs program equips you with the knowledge and skills to understand carbon footprinting, craft a winning sustainability strategy, develop a decarbonisation plan, and stay ahead of the curve to meet supplier and investor requirements.

Large energy user electrification support program: Funding available

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is supporting large energy users through the large energy user electrification support program, which aims to drive electrification in industry, reduce energy use, emissions and energy costs, and build industry capability. 

The Program will provide funding for approved specialists to complete electrification feasibility assessments for eligible Victorian commercial and industrial business facilities that use between 10 and 100 terajoules of gas per annum.

Applications close 30 September 2024, unless funding is exhausted earlier.
