FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

AUSTRALIAN RESEARCH GOT TALENT AWARD COMPETITION 2023

 

The Australian Data and Insights Association (ADIA) and ESOMAR are are delighted to announce the following finalists for the Research Got Talent Award Competition 2023.  

The Australian finalists (in alphabetical order) are:

  • Alice Harris and Jack Ryan (FiftyFive5) -  Project Wild Futures with Taronga Conservation Society Australia.
  • Ashleigh Bone and Sukrit Garg (Wallis Social Research) -Veteran suicide prevention: Re-integrating veterans back into society through community sporting club engagement with Invictus Australia.
  • Bryce Jackson (Ipsos) - Exploring how teens perceive different online interactions and how this differs to parents' perspectives with Sticks & Stones initiative by Spur:org.
  • Mercedes van Setten (Enhance Research) - Win-win: the benefit of dog rescues to people and the dogs in need with SEQ K9 Rescue.

Research Got Talent was launched in Australia in 2020 and encourages young professionals to use market research and insights to support local charities and NGOs to overcome pressing social issues. Entries were required to reflect a relevant, innovative, and impactful research design project that assesses and solves a specific issue. 

    Finalists will go through to the next round of judging on Wednesday, 14 June 2023, where a winner will be selected and entered into ESOMAR's global competition. The winner will conduct the project from July to September and receive $4,000 in prize money plus complimentary registration to attend the ESOMAR Congress in Amsterdam in September 2023. Winners are also invited to next year's Leaders Forum.  

    The ESOMAR global competition winners will take to the stage at the Congress 2024 to present their work. Last year's Australian and International winners, Marissa Tsioutsis and Roger Kong (both part of Fiftyfive5), will present at this year's ESOMAR Congress. 

    Sarah Campbell,  CEO of ADIA, said: “The Research Got Talent Award competition gets better every year and is a great avenue for young researchers who want to make a difference. Our finalists submitted excellent ideas, and we look forward to meeting them in the next judging round. I'd also like to thank our finalists respective member organisations for continuing to support this wonderful joint initiative. RGT is a rewarding project on many levels - it provides an international platform for our industry's brilliant talent and demonstrates the value that evidence-based research brings to social causes. I wish everyone the very best for next week."

    The Australian judges for the Research Got Talent Award Competition 2023 include Sally Joubert (Luma Research/ESOMAR representative), Brian Fine (QOR), Katie Ferro (CRNRSTONE), Julie Harris (YouGov) and the inaugural Australian RGT winner, Steph Perry (Ipsos). ADIA and ESOMAR thank our judges for their expertise and time.
