Meet the next generation of NYSFers at the 2024 NYSF Speed-Meet Events!

A key part of the NYSF Year 12 Program is exposing students to the range of career paths available to those interested in STEM. During the 2024 program, we will be holding Speed-Meets in Canberra (9 January 2024) and Brisbane (16 January 2024).

During this event, you will talk to a small group of students about your career path. The students might ask you questions about your study, research fields, current role, how you got to where you are today, and where you might be heading.

If you're an NYSF alum or STEM professional eager to share your insights with our 2024 NYSFers, register to attend an event now!

Podcast Next Gen releases new episodes!

Podcast Next Gen is a collaboration between Cosmos and the National Youth Science Forum.

The reporters are Year 12 students (and NYSF alum!) from across Australia – the next generation of scientists, science journalists and podcasters.

In the latest episodes of the new series we hear from Jorja, Hajara, Matilda, and Emelia.

  • Jorja asks, "What's the best music to study to?", and takes us on a journey into her brain on music.
  • Hajara teaches us more about the science behind the aurora.
  • Matilda adventures to the interface of art and science by asking, "Is there poetry in maths?"
  • And Emelia prepares to unpack marine microbes in all their fabulous forms as they ask, "How important are marine microbes?"

Stay tuned, as new episodes are released every Friday.
