2024 Community Engaged Scholarship Forum

Each year, Pitt elevates, celebrates, and reflects on collective approaches to community-engaged scholarship at the University at the annual Community Engaged Scholarship Forum (CESF). The 2024 CESF occurs March 5, 2024. 

CESF provides an opportunity for faculty, students, staff and community members to present their community-engaged work, discover new avenues of partnership, network with those who do similar work and celebrate Pitt's commitment to community engagement. Registration is now open!

Vitalant Blood Drive

Join Vitalant for an on-campus Blood Drive! The blood drive with occur on Friday, Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Lower Lounge of the William Pitt Union. Pitt community members can sign-up by visiting vitalant.org and searching with Account Code UCU190020.

Center for Teaching & Learning Anti-Racist Pedagogy Workshop

On Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 12 to 2:00 p.m., this virtual workshop will introduce and engage with the scholarship of anti-racist pedagogy. We will offer strategies and practices for faculty to incorporate antiracist pedagogy in their classroom and teaching practice. Please register to attend.

MCSI Green Speakeasy Research Series

RSVP to join us on Feb. 20 for the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation's second Green Speakeasy of the spring, Environmental Discourse. This Speakeasy is the first of their Research Series, which seeks to engage with the creative, critical, curatorial, communicative, and political dimensions of sustainability research and its challenges.

2024 URA Sponsorship Program

The Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh (URA) provides sponsorships to help fund community development events throughout the city. Applications are being accepted from now until March 8. Approved applicants will be notified in mid-April of this year. For more information and to apply, email sponsorship@ura.org, and visit the URA’s website.

New Sun Rising: Vibrancy Portal

The Vibrancy Portal was created by NSR for organizations and collaboratives that want to be more competitive for resources, and research shows that adopting a high data culture can increase funding opportunities, create stronger internal and external relationships, and lead to more effective operations. 2024 AAC&U Conference on Diversity, Equity, and Student Success

AAC&U invites educators, students, administrators, policymakers, and community members to come together in Philadelphia on March 21-23 for the AAC&U Conference on Diversity, Equity, and Student Success. This conference is focused on what unites us—our shared commitment to diversity, equity, and student success as central to what we do in higher education.

Engagement Scholarship Consortium Call for Proposals

The Engagement Scholarship Consortium, seeks proposals for their annual conference “Pathways to Prosperity: Building Sustainable Futures through Community Engagement" on October 9-10 in Portland, Oregon. Proposals are due April 1, 2024.

35th Annual National Service-Learning Conference

Save the date and experience the National Service-Learning Conference – the largest and most comprehensive global convening for service-learning educators, nonprofit leaders, administrators, students, and more on April 3-6 in Saint Paul, MN.

2024 CUMU Annual Conference Call for Proposals

2024 marks the 35th anniversary of the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities' (CUMU) founding, and they will be celebrating at the CUMU Conference: Beyond Boundaries in Minneapolis–Saint Paul, Minnesota on October 20-23. The Call for Proposals is now open. Submissions are due by April 3.

ITGA City & University Relations Conference

Conference registration is now open for the International Town & Gown Association Conference in College Park, MD on June 5-7. ITGA has released their Call for Proposals, which is open until Feb. 15, 2024.
