During the review of applications submitted in PittPRO, HRP staff verify that all required training has been completed. Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) and Human Subjects Research (HSR) training are required for all studies. Additional training requirements may apply depending on the nature of the research. For a complete list of required training and the circumstances under which it is required, please review the Research Training Hub.

Beginning October 1, 2026, PittPRO will begin to display the completion status for the CITI courses: International Research, Research with Children, and Privacy and Information Security, if they are required. If any of these courses are incomplete or expired, the submission will be placed on hold until the training requirements have been met.

To help avoid delays in the review and processing of submissions, please take a moment to review your CITI training record and ensure that all required courses have been completed and remain current. PIs and study coordinators can check the status of all training in PittPRO by using the Training Tab in the study workspace.
